I love Thanksgiving. It's a national holiday based on values I can support (gratitude, family, food, being together). The problem is that afterwards I feel like a blimp. So...
Let's go outside! Join us on Friday, November 29 at 10:30am at Coyote Hills Regional Park. We usually venture out to the salt ponds there in the summer in an attempt to cool down. But the place is full of over-wintering birds this time of year and so we are going to stretch the legs and find some birds. We'll make lists of the biggest birds, the smallest birds, the funniest birds, and any other birds that we find. We'll bring bird books and geek out on bird trivia.
We'll look for fish in the marsh. We'll soak up some Vitamin D. We'll peak through the fence at the Ohlone village. And we'll eat lunch somewhere. Turkey sandwiches optional.
See our previous adventures there. See how to get there. We'll meet in front of the visitor center and walk from there. Bring water, food, sun protection, and something to sit on for a picnic. We'll walk but bring bikes for afterwards if you want. Also, bring friends and family.
Lastly, it's forecasted to rain on Wednesday and/or Thursday. If it's looking wet and not so fun, I'll post something here and on Facebook at 8am on Friday morning.
Hope to see you outside!
